The way to convice Gore to run--a genuine draft in '08
It has happened rarely in American history--Adlai Stevenson in '52 may be the last time, but if the progressive community could get behind Gore and organize in early key states like Iowa and NH and then turn out a large vote for Gore--not necessarily a win (though it would be a cherry on the top of the cake if he did win) but a very respectable showing which would get him the attention of the media and a few delegates--it might convince Gore to enter the race, and he may see it then as his duty to run.

It's a long shot, but it might be worth it. I simply don't think the party can afford a war democrat like Hillary as the nominee with all of the usual Clintonesque talk of finding a middle ground (and without Bill's charisma to put it over). We need an authentic fire in his belly Democrat like Al Gore.

1. If he could'nt beat a weak shrub
no way he will beat a more adroit opponent. Leiberman is the only candidate that could divide the right. I'm still pissed he doesn't get more respect.

2. Excuse me? he did win in '00
He won the popular vote by 550,000 and studies show he won FL by 30,000--it was the US Suupreme Court who decided to intervene and award the presidency to Bush.

4. I'm not sure about that. Had Lieberman been the nominee
Nader might have gotten two million more votes than he did.
