Look, I'm all for ending this war and getting Shrubco out of office, but protest isn't gonna do it. Protest worked in the past because those in power were rational people who cared about public perception. When the White House and the majority party in Congress are religious fundamentalist wackbags, backed up by rigged voting machines, something else is needed

Just mired in self pity over the situation and worse yet, discouraging of those that are not.

I think of them as victims. They have learned helplessness. I never will. They can keep shocking this fucking rat for the next ten years and I will still be biting them on the ass!

Protest, vote, register others, do everything in your power to force change in the system. If that is still not enough at least you can look back and say you did your best for the country and your ideals. That you stood for what you believed in.

Very little positive has ever happened in this country without protesters pushing for it to happen. That has not changed. No one should EVER forget that lesson from history.
