Economic Revolution........... would this work?
I'm nothing near an economic expert or strategist, hell I don't even have a clue. I'm just your average Joe Sixpack (except that I don't drink) trying to make it in this mean ole world.

I just wonder what would happen if, come July 1st, everyone went to their HR dept, or whomever controls the paperwork at their job, and changed their number of dependants to the maximum allowable by law for the next six months? I know I've done it in the past when I was in a tight spot for a while... change your dependants to 10 or more for six months so I could pretty much bring home almost my full paycheck, then change to zero dependants for six months to even it out for tax time.

Would this work to help shut down this mis-administration? What if millions of people did it simultaneously? Would it have any impact? What about if we did it for a whole year? That would cover the rest of this year and the first half of next year. I've got the questions, just not the answers. Any ideas or comments on this?

so you'd be giving them even more $$$ next year

besides who is going to eff w. a real job by trying to involve their employer in something like this, esp. if you work for a small co. and boss knows durn well how many dependents you have, it makes you look like you're 1) cheating and 2) trying to involve your boss in it

not cool

4. If You're Paying A Mortgage, You're Probably at 10 Legitimately

You also get to count anticipated tax deductions towards the number
of exemptions you claim for withholding purposes.

If you claim more than 10 for any reason, they notify the IRS.

5. Marginal to no impact
Of course, nothing like this would every occur. But theoretically I would think the increased take home pay would not increase the GNP to make any noticeable difference.

6. Here's something that might work:
Try google searching for "Anarchism", "Freeganism", "Skill Sharing", and/or "Use Value Economy." There are all kinds of people out there who have found all kinds of ways to remove themselves from our economy.

Or here's another economic revolution that would work: Organize a movement of people all over America who buy some sidewalk chalk at their local dollar store and then sneak out at night drawing peace symbols everywhere. Paying for all the additional police it would take to try to get your art rebels off the streets would cost a hell of a lot more than the chalk it would take to put your rebels on the streets in the first place, and there's no way they could arrest yuo for doing something so harmless without turning a lot more people against them. Then we all just sit back and watch the police state crush itself under its own weight.

7. Stupid thinks if he runs out of money he can just print some more
and running the government in the red hasn't fazed him in the slightest, not with Grover whispering "Bankrupt, then drown in bathtub" in his shell like ear.

So no, it won't work.
