I bought a new roof from a door-to-door team of salesmen today

There were these 3 guys going house to house in our neighborhood while one guy slowly followed the posse in an old Ford pick-up truck. So, anyhow, the guy raps on my door and said he could patch my roof for $400 or give me a brand new roof, guaranteed for $5000 but they only took cash, because he buys supplies so cheaply that his vendors would only take cash for it. Sounds good, said I, so I gave him the $5000 cash and they will be back Monday to start the job.

Some people say I wan't too bright about all of this, but it's OK. I looked the man STRAIGHT IN THE EYE and I saw the content of his character and his soul, which my President taught me is how they do things in Texas and when meeting world leaders. :crazy:

About a month ago I was away on business and someone stole two lawnmowers and other gardening tools from my home. I WAS PISSED. (One of the machines was a Honda mower that I loved more than my car) Anyway, my grass hadn't been cut for several weeks and it was about 12 inches high. A dude shows up at my door and says he would cut my grass for me. He also said that he saw the guys stealing my mowers, pretty bizarre I thought. I said OK. I gave him the $30 he wanted, he got in his van and drove away. I have never felt more dickish in my life.

They didn't come back to do my work. Later I found out the guy who was the salesman had glass eyes. But the company sounded solid: bin Laden Roofing.
