Email from the George W. Bush Monument Committee

Dear Friends:

I have the distinguished honor of being on the committee to raise
$5,000,000 for a monument of George W. Bush. We originally wanted to put
him on Mount Rushmore until we discovered there was not enough room for
two more faces.

We then decided to erect a statue of George in the Washington, D.C. Hall
of Fame. We were in a quandary as to where the statue should be placed.
It was not proper to place it beside the statue of
George Washington, who never told a lie, or beside Richard Nixon,
who never told the truth, since George Bush could never tell the
difference.

We finally decided to place it beside Christopher Columbus, the
greatest Republican of them all. He left not knowing where he was
going, and when he got there he did not know where he was. He
returned not knowing where he had been, and did it all on someone
else's money.

Thank you.
George W. Bush Monument Committee

P. S. The Committee has raised $1.35, so far

7. Here's another funny little story

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted
a man in a boat below. She shouted to him,

"Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago,
but I don't know where I am."

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're 840 feet above sea level.
You are at 31 degrees, 14.29 minutes north latitude, and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes
west longitude."

She rolled her eyes and said, "YOU must be a democrat."

"I am," replied the man. "How did you know?"

The balloonist answered, "Everything you told me is technically correct,
but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I am still lost.
Frankly, you've not been much help to me."

The man smiled and responded, "YOU must be a Republican."

"I am," replied the balloonist, "How did you know?"

"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you're going.
You've risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made
a promise that you have no idea how to keep, then you expect me to solve
your problem. You're in exactly the same situation you were before we met
but, somehow, now it's my fault."
