disgust at this mountain of hypocrisy, it might be more calming and empowering to note that Mr. Delay, in his belated, long anticipated farewell speech, is telling the literal, absolute truth!

Before the brickbats start flying, let me hasten to add that Mr. Delay has proven, over and over, his devotion to truth and honesty and his unflinching dedication to purpose. This is so overwhelmingly obvious that it need not be argued.

The important point to be noted, however, is his personal, internal grasp of those slippery concepts of honesty and honor. His definitions are not parallel with the majority of humans. The hate and distrust that define the limits of his reality are simply foreign to the rest of us--those not driven by ideology so powerful that it blinds us to the real cause-and-effect, rational world.

We know, and can easily demonstrate, that ol' hemorrhoid hammer is batshit crazy and totally out of touch and that his notions of what is fair, compassionate, and just have no place in a country where we are interdependent and there is no place for a tiny group of absolute masters, served by billions of subservient, worshipping slave machines.

In his imagination, he is exactly as he claims to be. In the world of seven billion real, soft, easily damaged humans, with each having his own needs and ideas of how to fill them without destroying other humans, he does not fit.

We all know he is an evil, lying, overbearing, self righteous, smarmy tyrant. But in his world, he is exactly as he describes himself and the hated "liberals" are the bad guys, to be eliminated no matter what the cost.
