"Women Who Make the World Worse" book reviews. Some pretty good ones

waist of time and money, January 14, 2006

After trying to read this pile of garbage, I gave up. No use waisting brain cells on something written for people with an IQ below 50.

12 of 12 people found the following review helpful:

anyone need a used copy?, January 14, 2006

Even more shrill & inaccurate than her TV persona. I was hoping for actual data in a book (you can't do that in TV) but shrill attacks on Sex & the City? Attacking more attractive women for thinking?

Wrong-headed trash - but they're sincere.. , January 14, 2006

I haven't read the book and I doubt that most of the reviewers have either. There was a spoof satire-review of this cross-posted on the popular lefty humor website www.patriotboy.blogspot.com which has brought people to Amazon in droves to put in their $.02.

Just a couple things to mention. The Right-wingers are fools but they're sincere. How can one ever wean them away from their culture war BS where they fret and fume about what others are thinking, how we live and what entertainment we enjoy, as if it's any of their damned business, and get them to focus in on the deception and hypocracy of their leaders? Surely they aren't pro-bamboozlement..(?)

Kate O'Beirne is a very common red-state archetype who will follow Bush right off the cliff. We can laugh and goof on her in these reviews, after all she is a brittle, jugdgemental buffoon. But I would much rather open her eyes.

A nation of sheep will surely beget a government of wolves.

Kate O'Beirne wants women back in the kitchen, January 14, 2006

Why is Ms. O'Beirne so angry? Why is she so unhappy? Her goal of setting this country back 50, even 100 years is quite puzzling. Women have come a long way in our country, and for whatever reason, this infuriates Ms. O'Beirne. Perhaps the best solution for Ms. O'Beirne would be to move to a third-world Muslim country where women are treated as second-class citizens. In my opinion, that is the only place where shd will ever be happy.

This book is full of gross lies and distortions. Ms. O'Beirne is clearly out to earn a quick buck by writing a trashy, hate-filled book she hopes to sell to Fox News watchers and Rush Limbaugh fans. This book is full of the usual drivel you would expect from foaming-at-the-mouth right wingers.

This book will only appeal to truly horrible people. Save yourself the time and money and stay far away.

1. Have you seen the 'average customer review'?
The People agree, that book is a FLOP.

17. "that book is a FLOP." -- sadly no it isn't
It was the #39 bestseller. It should be a flop but there are just enough Morans out there to make it a hit.

2. Isn't O'Beirne ripping off another book from last year?
I seem to remember a "People who Make the World Worse" or something. Can't these conservative idiots get an original idea already?

Another thing: if O'Beirne really wants women to stay home and tend to their families, why is she still on TV?

Fucking hypocrite! :argh:

I think you might be referring to "100 people who are screwing up America (And Al Franken is #37)" by Bernard Goldberg.

Just more RW Propaganda.

4. Think you're right. One of the reviews ask why the "right" needs books
to determine who to hate. Think that was an OReilly book?

6. Hypocrite is right.
The right wing women want OTHER women to go back to the kitchen however, they won't apply the idea to themselves. For some reason they think (if you can call it thinking) the right wing ideas do not apply to them, just to other women.

15. There' s plenty more where this ugly wench came from...
Maybe she's angry because she's so ugly. That's whats wrong with all of the repugs they want to go back to the Leave it to Beaver world, which never was, it was for them but not for most. For repug men the women stay at home in the kitchen while they stay at the whorehouses and send their unwanted pregnancies underground, or out of the country to be terminated.

All of these repugs seem to want to go back to a better time, they don't want birth control but they want viagra. Didn't families way back when have 5,6,7,8,9, and 10 children, if they are so moral why do most of them have only one to two children in their families. Do repugs have abortions or don't they have sex?

16. Let's have a book on MEN who make the world worse...
...since THEY run it, I'd think that would be an endless tome and probably much too large and too thick for Amazon to even ship anywhwere. It'd have to be made into a monument - sort of like a wall with all the names on it and LOTS of room for expansion.

Not that all men make the world worse, but they DO run it by and large, and while there are decent ones out there, the rotten ones (who are usually the same ones running things) make a REALLY bad name for the rest of 'em.

NOW THAT is a subject worth having a book (or an encyclopedia, more like) about.

18. LMAO
I love the freepers' reply to all of the negative reviews. "I haven't read this book, but I'm giving it a positive because the people who dislike it must be liberals!".

It's funny they can't see how much worse that makes them look...

19. Are these women included?
Edited on Sat Jan-14-06 06:20 PM by stanwyck
Dr. Laura, a hack "doctor" who is so cold she left her mother to die alone. Her body wasn't found for weeks. And, according to co-workers, her son is an out of control brat. Phyllis Schafley. Mother of a gay son whose sexuality she refuses to acknowledge. Instead, she has him undergoing "re-education". Her daughter worked here in Atlanta briefly and was estranged from her mother. Nice.
How about Anne Coulter? She despises other women and openly bleats about women's inferiority.
Mrs. Alito, setting women back with her bawling drama-queen theatrics. Stay home next time and watch "What Not to Wear".
Lynne Cheney. Self-described arts patron who is more concerned with squashing creativity than nourishing it. Hypocritical smut writer. And leech on taxpayer money.
Maggie Gallagher. Disgraced columnist who "forgot" to disclose she was a paid infomercial writer for the Bushies. Oops.
Condi Rice. Subservient hand-maiden to her hus... I mean president. The old story of the "secretary" who just knows that one day, one day, her master will leave his wife for her. A nationalistic foot soldier who puts what is best for her president above what is best for America.
I won't even include Laura. She's such a non-entity. Bland and boring. I would like to know how she's doing on her "ending gang violence" project. What a joke.
