Zarqawi is a street fighter not like Bin Laden..Peter Bergen
Peter was on CNN and said the insurgency is not going to collapse overnight. If it was Bin Laden, it would be different as Zarqawi is a street fighter, and in competition with Bin Laden. He said that Zarqawi will not have a idealogical legacy as Bin Laden, who is the brighter guy. They were actually in competitors with each other and Zarqawi was trying to upstage Bin Laden. He said that the insurgency is two factors, Zarqawi forces(Jordon) AND Foreign Fighters (who are 90% of the attacks) Bin Laden. Zarqawi attacks were mostly Be-headings, and abduct people. Iraq has MANY groups leading ALL attacks..Shias and Sunnies...MANY GROUPS!
It ain't over folks!!

1. Yes, unfortunately the insurgency will continue
And could even get stronger. Bush will have a moment in the sun that he'll later wish he didn't make such a big deal of. How's it gonna look when they've trumpeted this and nothing in Iraq changes?

2. Indeed!
Peter Bergen really downplayed the significance of Zarqawi. All of a sudden CNN lost the connection. Go Figure!

8. It'll look the same as all the other "breakthroughs"...
- The killing of Saddam's sons
- The capture of Saddam
- An election
- Another election
- A constitution (incomplete)
- The transfer of sovereignty
- Yet another election
- The formation of a government (incomplete)
- And now, the termination of Zarqawi

Through all these "breakthroughs" in Iraq, the chaos has deepened, the violence has increased, and the chance of success has dwindled. And the "president" stays the course and brags of a breakthrough.

What an unholy mess this awful regime has gotten us into.

3. shame on you for tarnishing Boy George's victory, your traitor!
How dare you confuse us with facts and data, rather than accepting blindly the spin and crap that spews from our Holy White House?
Dear leader will soon put you and yours in your place, just to secure our freedoms and democracy.

but, you still make a very good point. This will change nothing.

6. The whole movement seems to have a life of its own.
This terrorist stuff has been around a long time and will just ebb and flow along as always. I fear that their has always been people who believe that anything goes is the way to get what they want. They were doing it before I was born and before Bush was born and I fear after we both are dead their will still be people who think the same way. Any countries history will show us these people and they always flow with the times. Once on horse back and now in planes. It is not that I do not think we can not do some thing but to go to war over it is really not what I think is very smart.
