Skinner is a former Chicago-area liberal radio host who was kicked off of the ABC radio affiliate there in 1997. She ran for Congress in Illinois but did not make the ballot and is running again in Michigan. Today, Randi Rhodes mentioned that Skinner turned down an offer from Boosh himself to appear with her--an offer which most fledgling candidates would kill for because of the fund-raising opportunity. Skinner, a woman of integrity, refused his "help." Help her by reading the info below and voting at the website link for her. She's smart and will make a great congressional representative.


There are 35 candidates who have qualified for the Democracy For America Congressional Candidates Contest. I’m in the third place right now and need to move up to 1st. I spent most of my career working on environmentally sustainable development after reading Al Gore’s Earth in the Balance, and my work was honored by a Presidential award for helping flood stricken communities rebuild as models of sustainability. Alarmed that Democrats were losing the media and message battle and that Rush Limbaugh and the right wing had taken over talk radio, I ended up getting my own show on WLS in Chicago in 1997. Two listeners to my program, Shelly and Anita Drobny, called in one day and said “we need more Nancy Skinners on the radio” and went on to co-found Air America Radio. I have been a regular commentator on FOX News, CNN and MSNBC where I have been standing up to the Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly, Joe Scarborough and the rest of them since 1999. I am focused on how we can Green the Auto Industry in Detroit by forming a federal partnership to expedite the production of hybrid, plug-in hybrid, flex-fuel and fuel cell vehicles. This is imperative for our economy, our environment and our national security. We need more of this thinking. Create new industries and jobs that address the environment and national security at the same time. Time to reinvest in this country by reinventing our energy economy.

For the $1TT we spent in Iraq....what if we invested that directly into a new economy here where we subsidized and supported non-oil alternative/renewable energy strategies. How much better would our economy, and our society, be? $1,000,000,000,000.00 invested in America?

That's what we have pissed into the ground in Iraq....so far.

Nancy improved my quality of life here in Detroit when she
was the morning talk radio voice for 1310 on my way into
work.

She is funny, smart and DEFINITELY a progressive. She backed
Howard Dean from the get go in '04.

She has my vote.
