Bush will not follow any subpoenas...
Edited on Tue Jun-06-06 04:30 PM by blueinindiana

IF… the ‘Democrats’ gain control of the House and issue subpoenas Bush will simply ignore them.

Bush will cite ‘National Security’ and find refuge in the court system, stonewalling until he is out of office.

Bush, Inc has not respect for the rule of law for they feel they are above it.

1. Probably exactly what BushCo will do, BUT
There are hundreds of other targets for the Democrats to drag before them to expose the many, many crimes of BushCo.

2. I know- and since DEMS are too frightened to impeach...
...so I guess he will get away with it. Assuming we even win a damn thing in '06 to begin with.

4. Nixon tried that
The courts are not particularly sympathetic. I know he will try it, but his chances of success are not really that good.

17. Yes he did
Nixon appointed four justices and Ike appointed three which makes 7. Renquist, Burger, Blackman, Brennan, Powell, Harlan, Stewart were all Republican appointees.

5. And once he is out of office
He had damned well better make certain that he leave DC the day before Inauguration Day and doesn't stop until he is in a country without an extradition treaty.

8. Yeah right. Which Democrat would have the guts to do that?
DEMs are too frightened to even DISCUSS impeaching the guy- now all of a sudden they will jail him in '08(assuming they can even win)?

14. I can dream, can't I?
Rich boy Georgie in a federal prison, roomed with two "protectors" who haven't seen a woman in the flesh for years.... Gives me a warm, satisfied feeling. (And lets not discuss what Bubba and Crusher are feeling, ok?)

16. Hey, you never know. Give 'em a taste of power again, and
they just might impress us all. Who knows?

I'm hoping that, just as the Christo-weasels were emboldened after all their success with their chosen candidates in 2004, perhaps we'll see our guys/gals grow a few pairs.

The flush of victory and all that stuff.

Whatever the case, once our team clinches the House, I suggest we ride their asses like nobody's business - RELENTLESSLY - and remind them that WE'RE the ones who got them back up to the top. If the "religious" "right" thinks it's owed, then SO CAN I. And I plan on reminding them of that - FREQUENTLY.

15. I can think of a few who would.
John Kerry, Al Gore, Russ Feingold, John Murtha, Dennis Kucinich, Howard Dean, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Ted Kennedy, Chuck Shumer...Just a sample.

And that guy who jumped over the rail when they were attacking Murtha. Think he's from Tennesse. Harold Ford?

Once democrats are in control and not under the bullying tactics of the neoCONs, there will be no stopping them...I truly believe that. I believe they are cautious now only because the CONs have so much power over them, over the media and over the citizens. The CONs have the run of MSM and can spread any slime against them and America will believe it.

I say they are being cautious to get the CONs out, then, look out America. You gonna get your Constitution back.

18. Unrealistic. No one is going to arrest Bush.
Most of those you mentioned that have a shot at the Whitehouse wont even whisper about impeaching the guy- now all of a sudden we jump straight to hauling him off Jefferson Davis style the day before inaguration?

I just dont see it.

But hey- I hope you are generally right about DEMs getting bold & agressive with these crooks- I've been waiting with baited breath for 6 years..

9. You Have To Know That Would Be Immediately Impeachable
And far beyond breaking into a Representative's office as far as getting the Congress (the Democratic Congress that is comming) united to remove the menace (Bush) from office.

That would be one they could not shirk off and it would be one the Court could not ignore either.

10. If we win BOTH House and Senate majorities
And if Bush ignores subpoenas, the only alternative is impeachment. And I'm not necessariy a fan of impeachment, although God KNOWS there are ample grounds for it with *. But that's the only possible remedy. Congress CANNOT allow the executive branch to thumb its nose at the rule of law. PERHAPS even some Repukes, if there are any with a shred of integrity, would even support that. On the other hand, there may be some Pukes who have an axe to grind with * who would also vote to impeach and/or convict.

11. Who says he wouldn't blow off impeachment and conviction?
"Shut the fuck up or I'll cancel the elections. In fact, I'm cancelling them anyway."

12. Then Congress has him arrested and forcibly removed.
Or worse, maybe. Hard (but not impossible) to imagine him pushing it that far. If he did, then like Caesar, he has "crossed the Rubicon" to set himself up as emperor/dictator.

Most Americans wouldn't take kindly to that. At least I hope they wouldn't.
