For everything Sam Alito lacks
Edited on Fri Jan-13-06 09:20 AM by DoYouEverWonder
his wife has certainly made up for this week.

Mrs. Alito purposely made herself the center of attention during the hearings. This is inappropriate for any nominee's wife, no less a nominee for the Supreme Court. Unfortunately, Mrs. Alito has done everything she can to draw attention to herself. From her inappropriate dress to a staged crying jag while Lindsey Graham talked about why there was nothing wrong with taking money from Jack Abramoff (listen to the audio, it's bizarre).

In the meantime, no one is paying any attention to who and what Sam Alito really is amd the Repugs have pulled another fast one again.

1. yep
It looks as if the Dems have been bought off.. again.

If any nomination needs filibustering, it's this one.

He's so extreme he's off the chart. It's scary.

2. It's not that simple . . .
Ms. What's'ername stirred up the people already convinced that Alito is just what they need to head the country in the right direction (toward the 1600s). People who see Alito as a paler, geekier Clarence Thomas were not convinced. The MSM -- WHICH THROUGH ALL THE AGES OF HUMAN HISTORY* HAS PREFERRED THE HISTRIONIC OVER THE THOUGHTFUL -- unsurprisingly ran with the teary story.

It's all bullshit. Alito is bullshit and his bullshit answers are well coached. Ms. Whoozit's demonstration is really minor in the context of this ideologue joining the court to become Scalia's butt-boy. They have the votes.

Expect the Bush impeachment to be thrown out by this newly constituted court. And O'Connor will rue the day she decided to retire.

* To the degree there's been an MSM-analog to point to

5. No Filibuster - No Fight
No filibuster will just mean three days of a lot of speechifyin' from the Democrats.

Not much of a fight.

Then a vote.

Expect Dems Nelson, Nelson and Landrieu to vote for Alito ... and every single radical Republican.

3. The people are shopping & looking forward to the next Survivor.
In a few years when even they no longer recognize their country, they'll be whinning "When did this happen?! How could it have happened?"

I was terrified to read the article on Common Dreams that in June, the SC will rule on if police need to announce themselves before barging into our homes. I can't even believe this is being considered in the country I grew up in!

7. He makes Clarence Thomas look smart
He couldn't even figure out the right answer when Lindsey Graham fed him the questions. Graham finally gave up and gave him the answers.

8. Unbelievable
This crowd hates smart people so much that they will do anything to fill the halls of power with idiots. When i hear about the "brilliance" of Scalia, and then realize what a logical fallacy "originalism" is, i know that guy is dumber than a tree stump. And HE'S THE SMART ONE!

9. Thank Gawd !
Some one finally said it! He's not very bright! He appears to have lived in a bubble and cannot relate to everyday experiences. He seems to be happy in his ignorance though.

10. Where the hell does BushCo find these people
there are so many of them it seems. All willing to tow the party line. This one couldn't even bring himself to admit that torture is wrong. There are days I wonder about the alien/lizard thing because such heartless souless people could not be human.
