This "We're at war, so anything goes" crap is wearing thin.
Last week when Bush was forced before the cameras in a petulant frenzy over the immigration furor, the first words out of his mush mouth were, "On September eleventh we were attacked", bla bla bla bla, therefore bla bla bla bla, we're at war so anything goes.

Anything. Torture, massive spying on us, mass piracy, etc., virtually any atrocity can be easily explained with this, "we're at war" crap.

Actually, we're not at war. Look around you, I don't see any war. War is when two opposing groups meet on the field of battle and have it out personally, and what we're doing in the middle east isn't war, it's occupation, and worse.

I hope folks soon realize that this constant "we're at war" mantra is the greatest hoax ever pulled.

1. I think Jon Stewart et al. put it best...
"September 11th + X, where X is whatever I say, = shut the hell up"

2. I`ve never understood "we`re at war." Never.
Know where we`re at? We`re mired down in a mess-of-choice Bush calls a "war." His indefensible WMD lies were his ticket for access to the Middle East where he could play Robo Invader without spilling a drop of his own precious blood.

Every one of the soldier`s deaths in Iraq occured because of Bush`s decision to exploit the nation`s fears after September 11th and nudge the majority into revenge mode. Every leg blown off, every burned child, every wrecked life happened because our AWOL commander pounced on an opportunity to go forward with the PNAC`s New World Plan. Bush even got a bonus....Cheney got to activate those oilfield maps he had been studying for quite some time.

Bush`s decision to invade a country that was no threat to us will some day prove to be a very dark chapter in the history of American imperialism.

6. If the Taliban would have made a deal
with BushCo regarding a pipeline and had given the location of Osama bin Laden would BushCo have attacked the Taliban or only gone after al Q?

7. indeed... the so-called 'War on Terror' is not a war, but a PR campaign
just like it's ugly older brother, the so-called 'War on Drugs'. :grr:

8. "We're" not at war until Congress declares it.
What's happening now is *'s adventurism, in which Congress is complicit.
