I was chillin on DU and then along comes Rove and truthout
If you follow my posts, I don't get too involved in these types of things. Crime, idiots, personal stories, etc are my forte. I do my duty and vote dem, support dems, and so on in the world outside the internet. I even try to post what I can about our crappy government from govexec.com and other places (but those posts usually die a quick death).

So let me give you an 'outsider's' perspective on this whole thing.

We want rove (and others!) indicted and toasted. We really, really want it. They deserve it. Along comes some guy who says our dreams have come true. And we are pissing out pants with delight. And when it does not go down the way we had hoped - we are pissed and wanting answers. Why would anyone choke our chain on something as important as this??

Then there is - well maybe he heard something and felt it was real, and was eager to give us the good news - only to have it turn out to be false (for now). People love to spread news; good and bad. At work I am on the inside track of things and when good things are announced to me I filter it down secretly to my folks - but there have been times that such good news was changed and I felt terrible over it.

We all want the same thing I think. If some guy jumps the gun based on his sources and gets our hopes up I can understand being a little pissed off about it. I still think though we are all on the same side of the issue.

I don't want to see Jason go down in flames, I want to see the asshole in chief to go down in flames. Rant away about Jason's screwup on this - just toss in equal time for exposing the idiots in charge. Salon went out and kicked Jason's ass it seems - let's hope the give more than equal time to bush and crew.

'Nuff said from me on this. Now back to my regular programming. Check this out!

4. Thank you!
I try to keep out of recycling the political news in a direct format. While many focus on the federal government (and glad they do!) I see change starting at the local level. Crime, wackos, etc, are mainly at the local level (* and crew at fed level).

I am more worried (at times) about us as a people in toto than which idjit we have in charge. Change comes from within, not from some sorry ass leader.

Goes back (for me) to Jesus and his followers. Change the hearts and minds of folks, and you won't need all those damn laws in the first place.

We had homelessness and crime under clinton, we do under bush. The solution is not based in a few in DC, but in the many locally. We have more power than the feds do - we just need to exercise it.

6. Maybe it just isn't meant to be just yet. Rove deserves to suffer a lot!!
If he were indicted now, he wouldn't really suffer enough nor admit wrong doing. He enabled the mass murderers in Iraq including 2400+ U.S. soldiers who gave their lives for the deliberate lie that Iraq was a threat to America when it was not. We should also recall the tortures of innocent Iraqis.

True justice might involve someone setting Rove on fire, which, he'll survive and his wounds will remind him for the rest of his life of how he helped kill tens of thousands of Iraqis. At the report of his bursting into flames, the nearest ambulance, because of budget cuts, will take 45 minutes to reach him, he'll get caught in the medicare program doughnut and his doctor will be incompetent, a victim of the no-child left behind act, with so much debt that he needs to see 300 patients an hour just to pay off his loans to private banks.

His male nurse will be gay and is very angry that his partner whom he married in Canada was deported because of bush's anti-gay policies.

His mounting medical bills would have forced him to declare bankruptcy but he can't because of the BANKAMERICA USURY PROTECTION ACT so he works in a coal mine which has air full of coal dust because of mining deregulation.

On his birthday Jason reveals that Rove is in fact Percy Bin Ladin, Osama's twin brother, separated at birth when his whore mother dropped him as she ran to the hospital. In an interview Rove will admit that he never fully understood why he hated America so much that he worked with Smirky and Dick to destroy it. At that time Smirky and Dick would have already been tried, convicted and executed for their war crimes.

So as you see, this indictment will be an obstruction of the real justice this monster truly deserves.

8. I agree
Though I'm concerned about the many DUers who are currently embracing Bushco's "create your own reality" theme with this story.
