Backward Blackjack MO
I guess I shouldn't be too surprised, this being a stronghold of the right wing wacko brigade but the shit hole burb of St. Louis known as Blackjack MO is trying to evict unmarried parents and their kids based on weird zoning laws. I guess it's OK to be a wife beater or child molester, just so long as you have them papers.

See the story here:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12835020/

And then if you feel like it give the mayor and the rest of the fundie assholes a call at the numbers listed here:
http://www.co.st-louis.mo.us/scripts/communities/muni.cfm?City=Black%20Jack

Note that the homepage for the hellhole of blackjack is offline, probably due to a bit too much traffic.

2. Live next to Black Jack....
While you are certainly entitled to your opinion, I live in the next town to Black Jack and I don't really see it as a sh** hole. It's certainly not the high rent district of the area and has it's share of problems, but it and the surrounding areas are far from being as described. Yes, the laws might need to be modified or amended, but they were certainly the laws before this couple elected to move into the community and many of the surrounding towns in the area have very similar laws, so one suspects they didn't come as a huge surprise. Yes, the issue could have probably been handled much better on all parts, but no one twisted their arms to buy property or move into Black Jack. It's unfortunate and I sympathize with the folks, but at what point do you draw the lines on how many people can move into any home? Should all building and zoning codes be scraped? Should houses designed for single family's be allowed to become small apartment complexes. One suspects that there are some type of restrictions on housing units pretty much everywhere in the country. Just what is right and who decides? The people of Black Jack through their elected representatives have created their ordinances. Is that not the democracy we want? How is calling their community names helpful? If they disagree with them they can elect new representatives to their city council or find means to overturn those ordinances. If you disagree, it appears that name calling is the answer.

3. Well, golly gee...
I certainly hope that no one owning or renting in Black Jack has more than the alloted 1.5 children. Hope the day after pill and/or a friendly abortionist are available to keep the quotas in check. How else ya going control them folks that reproduce in blatant violation of the 'holy' ordinance?

"Leave the front light on, honey. The Mayor's coming round to do a bedcheck tonight".

:sarcasm:
