Listen to these two cowards on Hardball.
That will show you where the heart of both parties lay. Tweety asked them why the Congress won't pass a law criminalizing the hiring of illegal workers and neither one of them would give an actual agreement. Instead, they said things like "Well, that should be something we look into, but I don't know about making it a criminal violation."

The interests of both parties are with big business. Never be fooled into thinking otherwise.

1. I saw the House debate an amend to a bill about that once-
The dems were proposing a $10,000 fine companies that knowingly hired an undocumented worker. The repubs squawked like they'd been gut stuck! Why, that could BANKRUPT a company, they said. Uh, doesn't that just mean it would work? (punitive, deterrent, and all)

2. And yet...
... when it comes to minor drug offenses they will raise the punishment every time. No matter how many families they destroy or lives they ruin ultra harsh punishment is always the answer.

Shouldn't the same ferocity be applied to people actively helping in the destruction of the working class?

3. There already are such laws and they've been there since 1986

4. True. I wonder why we never enforce them...
... except for when we need to show the public that we are doing something.
