WTF is up in Cleveland? Could it happen here?
or where you live- WE need to fight this BU**SH** in the streets-not just on-line!
Just look at this whole case: a woman posts a "Bush Step Down" poster on a telephone pole, being brutalized by the police in the process, and now not only faces 3 years in prison but also a mandatory psych exam.

Heck I think the judge is the one who needs the psyc exam. Seem almost crazy NOT to want the Bu**Sh** regime impeached to me.

If ever there was a time for everyone who CARES, to go out and hang up a sign it is now- especially around Cleveland. There are so many junk 'rip off' signs - I can see certain places but on a telephone pole on a busy road-I just hung up a large orange IMPEACH sign from a telephone pole-but I didn't take a picture-dang. Got to make another one.
I've always wanted to visit Cedar Point- well if I do I'm loading up my car with a buch of signs to post on the way.

Edited on Sat May-13-06 07:37 PM by jarnocan
wherever I go I'm gonna try to have a couple signs around in case I see that nice fairly busy yet easy to get to sot to hang a sign.
If you hit the above link there is more info and ways to help this brave lady.

3. ANYONE living in Cleveland needs a good psych exam.
It's Cleveland.

Seriously, that's one f**ked up thing to have done to a person. Hopefully it's something that can be overturned on appeal.

9. I lived in Ohio for many years
and one of the first things I learned was that nobody in Ohio has a sense of humor.

13. Yeah. People can choose to live in a place, and get awfully sick of
other people looking down their noses at it and acting like it's the armpit of the universe, when anyplace anyone lives has its good and bad points. Including wherever you live.

People making fun of Cleveland isn't funny...it's just prejudicial and OLD.

6. It's not Cleveland - Cleveland Heights
Two adjacent cities, but two entirely separate cities. Cleveland Heights is one of the most liberal cities in the state of Ohio. Its police force is larger per person than the City of Cleveland and agressively enforces the city's laws. If you are ever planning to move to the Cleveland area, be sure to check out Cleveland Heights. It's a jewel.

7. Thanks for pointing that out. I know when I read this OP I couldn't
believe they were talking about Cleveland! I grew up in Pgh, PA. and had friends in Cleveland. That story sure didn't sound like the Cleveland I knew!!!!

14. We lived there for four years.
The police are great at parking tickets and speeding tickets. :eyes: It's a nice place, though. Great restaurants, best movie theatre in Cleveland, and good people. I still can't believe this happened there.

8. Sending people to mental institutions
or having them declared insane was one of the U.S.S.R.'s favorite ways of getting rid of political dissenters. Apparently, the judge in this case has decided that totalitarianism is the correct path to take here, because his reasons strike me as far more insane than the woman he is sentencing.

Unless Dubya has issued a signing statement, or an Executive Order declaring otherwise, we Americans still have protections under the First Amendment. When a corrupt government can get rid of opposition this way, we need to be far more worried about the abuse of power from Washington than the danger from terrorists.

10. "Judge" McGinty and Das Cops should be deported.
They don't belong in our country. We believe in freedom and they believe in tyranny.

19. I live in Maine
I did visit Seattle last year and thought it would be a great place to live. The next time I'm in the job market (hopefully not for a while!!) I'm going to keep the area in mind.

Keep up your good work over there! :)

18. Even more amusing is that the "STOP BUSH" stickers remind me of the...
"STOP NIXON" stickers that also cropped up on stop signs everwhere...just before his fall.

17. Emailed someone
at the ACLU, the response was that the ACLU is working with her lawyers to decide what's the best course of action, as she's already been convicted. At least someone is defending her rights.
