Take control of conversations with freepers
Considering Bush is on a giant slalom run of poll numbers it would seem to some like we don't need to do anything except sit back and watch; not true. People are starting to question this dirty administration more and more. I know there have been similar posts about this earlier in the year but I wanted to bring it back up again. We really need to start controlling the political dialog in this country. People are thirsty for answers and we can provide them. The worst way to go about this is to shove it down their throats'. I have a lot of pent up anger at Bush and his political hacks, but it isn't constructive to vent to a potential convert. I'll give an example:

"******* hell at least bush supports hunters"
"Yeah, have you been able to get out hunting much? It seems like with this really high gas prices it is hard to get anywhere without breaking the bank. Not to mention those republican DC fat cats keep mining and drilling in the game reserves, so much for a good hunting season."

"Hey our leader supports womens health and oopses abortion"
"I sometimes wonder what he really thinks though, did you hear that he appointed a veterinarian to run the women health department? yeah freaky"

well I was just thinking about that. feel free to let this drop like a rock though. :hi: night all

1. well, my initial reaction is not to talk to freepers, but since that isn't
possible, you are right, controlling the dialogue is essential. alas, will certainly have lots of practice here in fundieville.

g'night!!

2. This is a great point. Insults will get you nowhere. There are a lot of
potential converts out there (especially here in ID), ripe for the picking, but you need gloves, as they can be thorny ;)

3. I find that the liberal use of the word "fuck" helps...
A paraphrased actual conversation with a fundie at work:

Him: Gays want special rights.

Me: No, they don't. They want the rights that everybody else has.

Him: Then why do they want special laws passed?

Me: Because the average American is stupid. The Constitution says "ALL men are created equal". That means black men and Jewish men and men in wheelchairs and women...AND gays. If people were more intelligent, we wouldn't need "special laws" to deal with this shit. "ALL men" means ALL men...it's not that difficult a concept.

Him: That's your opinion, mine is different.

Me: It's not MY opinion, it's the fucking "opinion" of the fucking Conststution of the United States of fucking America.

He didn't say anything else (I think all of the "fucks" offended him), but I got a positive reaction from the other 10 people who were within earshot.

4. I find telling them to get their head out of their ass helpful.. After
reminding them they appointed a damn monkey for president, not once, but twice!
