* Impersonator Steve Bridges is such a typical Repuke.

He was on the Today Show this AM. He said that he supported * in 2004, because he knew "which side of my tortilla is buttered."

1. I think that he would HAVE to say that even if he detested Dimson
Edited on Mon May-08-06 11:00 AM by BrklynLiberal
if he ever wanted another job.
That does not mean that he was not being sincere, of course.:puke:

4. I do believe that was a joke, son
I have heard him interviewed other places where he says his voting habits are private. He does a killer Clinton, as well.

5. He probably had to say that. Hopefully he was lying.
Still, it's just one vote. I wouldn't have voted for the miserable failure. He'll have to go back to doing his real job (whatever that was).

7. How much work would he get if he said anything else?
Tortilla buttered, indeed!!!

That'll guarantee him a few more gigs at corporate functions...and they pay well. He's riding the cash cow 'till 08, and who can blame him? He's gonna need the money for his retirement!

10. I call the quick retirement the "Vaughn Meader Syndrome"
Remember the fastest selling record of all time? Remember anything about Vaughn Meader after 11/22/63?

15. there's a pic online of him somewhere, dressed as * dressed as Santa
If you follow that elaborate setup! Santa suit and beard on top of his Bush makeup, for some company Christmas party. He must have been sweltering under all that.

8. Words CANNOT EXPRESS how SICK OF THIS GUY I am. Seriously.
I thought his bit was "painful" and forced, not funny. Imagine a ladder with ten rungs, and Jay Leno is the top rung. This dickwad is somewhere around rung #2, or whatever rung is right below Gallagher and Carrot Top.

DID...NOT...ENJOY...his "performance."

And the funniest thing of all is that I posted a thread on what he gets for an appearance ($18,500 plus airfare and expenses, depending on the gig). A fellow DUer stepped up, all full of righteous indignation, ready to "put me in my place," yelling "HOW DO YOU KNOW HE'S NOT A DEMOCRAT?" Then he / she went off on a rant about how he MIGHT contribute to an assload of humanitarian and Democratic causes...how the BUSH LOVE might be a subtle, intricately woven satire reflecting the irony of our times...

puh-LEEZ. Good GOD, Go dunk your head and let me know when things start clearing.

:tinfoilhat:

Well...to that DUer, all I can say is "Step up...your tortilla is ready."

9. He told Russert that he thinks Bush "is a good man"
That tells the story for me.

The guy does spot-on impressions, but he doesn't do much else with them IMO. He's like the 'Carrot Top' of political humor.

12. Well, hell, if some twit enabled your earning of a six figure income
or possibly more, you'd think he was fine, too!

Really--what is this guy supposed to say? I hate him? I bite the hand that feeds my family? That's comedic and business suicide for him.

He's not a legislator, he's a friggin' COMEDIAN. Don't give him more sway than he merits.

And you know damn well if Bush falls on his ass in a major way, it will become part of his act. He is simply a fuzzy reflection in a looking glass, nothing for anyone to really concern themselves about. He certainly doesn't play Bush as a strongman, he plays him as a clown. Because he steers away from the heavy aspects of Bush's character is no reason to crap on the guy. In this economy, if he did anything else, his job would probably be outsourced!!!

13. And yet, there's no shortage of people who say "it's just an act."
I'm sure that my extreme negative reaction to the guy is based on two things: first, Bush's own involvement in the "routine," and second, I'm one of those folks who no longer sees humor in Bush's fake-ass "awww, shucks" Connecticut Cowboy "self-effacing" CRAP. Let's have some more Laura jokes about milkin' the horse...now THAT was fun-nay.

Emphasis on "nay."

Timothy Bottoms (That's My Bush!) does it much better.
