Cheney on MSNBC, Pt. 2: "2005 Was Watershed... Turning Point" In Iraq
More from Kelly O'Donnell's interview today with Cheney:

She said to him that he had taken a lot of flack for his statements that we would be "greeted as liberators" and that the insurgency is in its last throes. Would he not now say that those statements are false?

Cheney answered that the statements he made were "basically accurate." "I really believe when the history books are written, 2005 will be seen as a watershed year... We'll see that 2005 was the turning point... That will have been the time we turned the corner." His point was that they created the most advanced constitution in the Arab world, or something like that, overlooking the fact that it's actually an oppressive and probably unworkable theocratic document.

Yes, that's right. Three years into the CAKEWALK, we're at a turning point from an "historical perspective." That's ASSUMING that things don't continue the way they've been continuing for, um,the past three years.

Again... EEEVVILLL man. :puke:

5. "Basically accurate"
What the fuck is basically accurate?

Kind of right?
Somewhat correct?
Sort of factual?

7. "when the history books are written", you will be dead, bastard.
But not forgotten.

This 'corner' smells strongly of my generation's 'tunnel'.

13. We'll all be dead
Isn't that what Bush told White House stenographer Bob Woodward, in "Bush At War"?

Q: How will history judge your presidency?

A: Who knows? We'll all be dead.

That's what they're betting on... and that should scare the living crap out of everybody.

8. From now on, no one should expect
this man to change his viewpoint about anything. The dude's a lost cause. Why do they even keep asking him questions like this?

It's clear Dick Cheney will never change his point of view. About 6 months from now, as he's laying on his deathbed, a reporter comes to call. He pushes a microphone in front of Cheney and asks him, "So....Mr. Cheney....do you have any regrets about what you did?"

Cheney (breathing hard, wheezing)...."No, I have...no regrets...flowers...Iraq, cakewalk....the best thing....I (wheeze) ever did".

11. Dick Cheney got a $1.8 million tax refund in 2005

Not bad when you consider his fixed-income government job only pays him about one-sixth that amount.

Suckers.
