1. GIANTS
The Arrington and Short signings the week before the draft changed our team needs quite a bit. Still, the giants shook it up more than usual this year. They traded down and then up to get the two highest players on their board and still got an extra 4 pick to take a huge potential lineman. Overall I loved the Giants, who often defy convention, for the better.

1 32(32) Mathias Kiwanuka DE Boston College
They traded down because they thought Kiwanuka would still be there. He has a huge upside and blew everyone away at the combine. He is seen to need some development, but with Osi and Strahan in front of him, he will have time to learn.

2 12(44) Sinorice Moss WR Miami (FL)
the fastest Giant receiver since Homer Jones. This was agreat pick. He was the highest receiver on the Giants board and they wanted a deep threat. He is it. The trade down in teh first round made this one possible.

3 32(96) Gerris Wilkinson ILB Georgia Tech
All experts seem to agree he has all the tools to start in the NFL.

4 27(124) Barry Cofield Jr. DT Northwestern
Don;t know him at all, but the scouts think he can develop into a run stopper.

4 32(129) Guy Whimper T East Carolina
this is my favorite pick. He went to college as a defensive lineman and the school discovered he could block better than rush. they converted him to TE to use his speed, then realized he was a better OT. The Giants line coach thinks he has the body and feet to be a pro bowl tackle, but he only played 11 games at tackle in his life. He will be on the practice team and rotating in and out of the game day roster for a season or so. But the giants expect him to replace Luke Pettigute in a year or two.

5 25(158) Charlie Peprah S Alabama
7 24(232) Gerrick McPhearson CB Maryland
Don't know either of these guys, but McPhearson is said to be fast, running a 4.23 once.

4. Steelers and I just want to thank you guys
for landing us Santonio Holmes who is going to be great.
1(25) Santonio Holmes WR of Ohio State: Gonna love this guy he seems not only very good as a player but a good person too.

3(83) Anthony Smith FS of Syracuse: Not who I expected to fill this slot but I like what I hear about his abilities especilaly on special teams.

3(95) Willie Reid WR of Florida State: Was a surprise however I like that he's a great kick returner

4(131) Willie Colon G of Hofstra: A little offensive line help is never bad IMO

4(133) Orien Harris DT of Miami of Florida: Heard he was going earlier in the draft, I like this pick he could be a great DT with Big Casey Hampton.

5(forget the exact number) Charles Davis TE of Purdue: The only pick I really turned my head at because we have two decent TEs however Tuman isn't young so it could be the right move down the road.

5(ditto) Omar Jacobs QB of Bowling Green: He won't be a starting QB because of Big Ben however I think he'll make a great backup or third string and future tradebait.

6(ditto again) Marvin (forget his last name stupid me) C of California: Could be a sleeper down the line because Jeff Hartings is retiring within a year or two.

7(240) Cedric Humes RB of Virginia Tech: I wanted a back earlier in the draft however Humes' upside is that he can be a fullback possibly too. I expect the Steelers to pick a RB on Day 1 next year because Duce Staley is getting up there in age and Willie Parker is not an everydown back.

5. Willie Reid may turn out better than Holmes
He has a huge upside, is fast and has great hands. I saw him play a few times and should be good in the Pros as a third down/slot guy.

6. So does Holmes
He's finally the #2 receiver we've been looking for since Plaxico Burgess went to the Giants. He's got character too. He's more like Hines Ward and he even idolized Ward and Marvin Harrison as a kid. I agree with you about Reid though, a lot of people on Steelers.com were a litlte skeptical about Reid at first but as we learned more about the dude's abilities the more we like the pick. Ben's going to have so many targets. I expect them to draft a running back next year or the year after that to be honest since Staley is getting up there in age and he's often injured and as I said a big back to counter with WIllie Parker would make this team even greater.

7. we love holmes
we were sad to see him leave us, and not just because of his playing ability. He's not what you would call a star, but he's a grinder; very reliable, which is what I think you guys can use

8. He seems to be the perfect Steeler
He's got a lot of class from what I've read on him. OSU had a lot of people drafted I saw. I am glad we got Holmes instead of Sinocris Moss or Chad Jackson because Moss is too small honestly and Jackson is a UF WR and they tend to bust. I think Holmes could end up becoming like Hines Ward has been. I saw a video of him making a kick ass block during the Notre Dame game. He can catch the deep ball too. I think the Steelers after a year without a second big threat have funally replaced Burgress and I think Holmes will be even better.

2. Bears...
what a mess!

The league's #1 ranked defense and #30 ranked offense, and they pick 4 of the first 5...defensive players.

And 2 kick returners in the 2nd round (after trading away their 1st round pick)?

Complete f*'ing mess.

3. Bengals
1.) Johnathan Joseph (CB, South Carolina)
2.) Andrew Whitworth (T, LSU)
3.) Frostee Rucker (DE, USC)
4.) Domata Peko (DT, Michigan State)
5.) A.J. Nicholson (LB, Florida State)
6.) Reggie McNeal (WR, Texas A&M)
7.) Ethan Kilmer (WR, Penn State)
8.) Bennie Brazell (WR, LSU)

Not too bad; i would have preferred more LB's, but I'm satisfied. I do question all the WR's at the end, but I wasn't watching the draft at that point, so I don't know who was really left.

We also just signed Ryan Hamby, TE out of Ohio State. A good blocking TE. I always like to get some Buckeyes on my team :D
