Anyone try hypnosis tapes/CDs?
Hi all and congrats to all of you for even attempting to quit smoking. I know how hard it is. I quit in 1995 (Hey, it's been eleven years! :toast:) That was my second time quitting. I had quit before for five years then picked it up again for a few years when I met my husband because he smokes.... And he's still smoking. He doesn't smoke near as many as before. He rolls his own and smokes that American Spirit tobacco without the additives. That makes me feel better because I do believe the additives are a large part of why so many people get cancer. Still, I wish he would quit and he wants to. We have a six-year-old daughter and are in our late forties, so we are going to have to be in good health if we want to stick around long enough to enjoy grandchildren, etc.

The first time I quit, I used a hypnosis tape. I had been smoking two packs a day for ten years. The tape really seemed to make quitting so much easier. The second time was harder even though I was smoking way less than two packs a day but I couldn't find a stop-smoking tape except for some that cost about $75 or more! (The one I had used years before was only fourteen bucks.)

So my question is, do any of you know of any quit-smoking tapes/cds that are good and don't cost a fortune?

PS I have to laugh reading your posts....so many of you mention something along the lines of "I just like smoking too much..." like your love of smoking is so much more than anyone else's. Hey, EVERYONE who smokes likes it that much, it's not just you. I LOVED smoking but these days the smell of it disgusts me, so it is possible to quit and be very content about it eventually. Good luck to you all!
