Anyone here use Obagi?
I am fifty nine and I went to the dermatologist for a skin cancer screen, and also to get a recommendation for a good skin product. He told me that he only deals with one line of products since it is far superior to all the rest. But very expensive. Like $400 for the system which is seven products. It includes Retin-A and is an eighteen week program before going on maintenance. As I read the reviews on different skin care websites, this product is like a miracle. People are raving about it taking away wrinkles and making skin look twenty years younger. Then today I met a lady where I work out who has been using it for several years. She is in her sixties and I swear her skin looks like that of a twenty year old. I was absolutely floored. I am in my first week of using it so of course I can't judge any results, but my face is starting to flake quite a bit. This is an expected outcome, BTW.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone here was using it. :)

1. I work for a dermatologist and she is going to start selling Obagi
as well to her patients. Unfortunately, I haven't seen anyone who has been using it, so I cannot comment. Let me know what you think. I'm going on 57 and might consider it myself.

2. I have used it regularly in the past.
I was on the whole regimen for about 3 years. It DOES work. I combined the program with regular microdermabrasion and my skin was lovely. But it just got so tedious. What with the blender and the cleanser and the bleaching agent and the toner, etc. I discontinued it.

My Dermatologist still recommends Cetaphyl Foaming Cleanser and a mild Retin-A cream. He says those two work just as good for my skin type as the whole Obaji system..and for a lot less money.

3. I use Paula's Choice skin-care products.
High quality, fragrance free, inexpensive, and you get a lot in each container (not $250.00 per 0.5-oz tiny jar like dept. stores sell).

www.paulaschoice.com

She also calls BS on a lot of the marketing aimed at women's insecurities by the cosmetics industry.

I have been using these products for about five years. There is no retin a product in her line, but very good AHAs and BHAs.
