Tonight on Countdown
------------------------------------------------------

As a prosecutor on Tuesday weighed whether to press charges against Jennifer Wilbanks, the bride-to-be who faked her abduction, she was said to be working on a statement that could shed light on her actions. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7692019/

Countdown w/ Keith Olbermann broadcasts LIVE at 8 pm et, and the count is never complete without you. Join us.

Actor Macaulay Culkin, long a friend of Michael Jackson and one of his most steadfast defenders, will be one of the first three witnesses to take the stand in the pop star's defense against child molestation charges. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7720259/

The public reaction was predictable when word first got out of SeaCode Inc.'s proposal to house 600 foreign software engineers on a cruise ship moored three miles off the California coast, thus undercutting U.S. wage rates and circumventing local labor rules. The veteran technology columnist John Dvorak described the vessel as a "slave ship." Other critics preferred the label "sweatshop."(Michael Hiltzik, LA Times) http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-golden2may02,1,4320743.column?coll=la-headlines-business

One of two pilots whose Marine Corps fighter jets were reported missing in Iraq has been found, and investigators have concluded that their planes likely collided in the air, a senior defense official said Tuesday. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7713274/

Baby helmets: Monica Novotny reports.

Parents would probably deny it, but Canadian researchers have made a startling assertion: Parents take better care of pretty children than they do ugly ones. Researchers at the University of Alberta carefully observed how parents treated their children during trips to the supermarket. They found that physical attractiveness made a big difference. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/222597_ugly03.html

That's some of what we're planning for tonight's show.

Finally,
The Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse, New York is looking to become the first zoo in the nation to be powered by its own animal waste - particularly the prodigious piles produced by its pachyderms. The zoo - world prominent for its Asian elephant breeding program - is studying how feasible it would be to switch to animal waste as an alternative energy source to reduce its $400,000 annual heating and electricity bill. The zoo's six elephants produce more than 1,000 pounds of dung per day, said Zoo Director Anne Baker. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/W/WASTE_POWER?SITE=NWCN&TEMPLATE=STRANGEHEADS.html&SECTION=HOME
1,000 pounds... every day? Who knew?

2. Doing great, Rev!
A little bit :scared: by what I found out about a long-time poster who got tombstoned yesterday, though. Hard to believe the lies some people will say to get sympathy and money from others. YIKES!

Hope you're doing well! :hi:

3. Oh, yeah - Crispi's filled me in on that.
I'm really pissed at how this person used religion for his own purposes. His behavior just adds fuel to the religion flame-wars... Or maybe not. We'll have to see how things go.
