Question For Car Experts
We inherited a 1992 Cadillac DeVille from my FiL. The thing is gorgeous and runs great. I use it for winters and just park my ragtop.

There is a little "computer" thingy on the bottom left of the dash just next to where one's left knee would be. It shows the amount of fuel left in one little window and the temperature of the car and things on the other.

Recently, it is showing the letter "c" all the time. Not sure what this means.

Any experts out there who know something about how these car info computers work?

1. Is this in the "Fuel Data Center" window?
I believe that this also has the "oil life" data contained there. The "C" may mean that the oil needs to be changed. Just a guess, though. You might have better luck on one of the Cadillac forums out there.

2. I Looked
Yeah, it is the fuel data window. It also has the outside temperature and the setting of the climate control deal.

The only forum i found is a forum that i had to agree to pay for an answer. The car is running fine, and if i have to pay for advice, i'll take it to a mechanic. I was just hoping someone knew how these things worked a lot better than i do.

Guess i'm taking it to "the guy".

3. Wait to take it to "the guy"
I e-mailed my brother earlier. He had a 1991 Cadillac back in the day, and I'm hoping he'll remember what this display means.

This forum may also help, and I don't think you need to pay to play:

4. I Found That After I Posted Back To You
There is an "ask the mechanic" feature there, but that is a pay thing.

But, there are absolutely free forums, so i dropped the question there.

Let me know what your brother says, though. I'll take whatever advice i can.

I'm not really worried about spending a few bucks on it. After all, we didn't pay a dime for it.

I'm hoping it's something like "C" for "Charge Battery" or "Change Oil" or something.

The car has been sitting since mid-April. Maybe it's just angry with me.

Thanks for trying to help out.
