that I haven't really explored in quite a while.
The weather was so lovely, low 70s and sunny, that it was too nice to head to the gym.
This shopping center is one of the original strip shopping centers, made in a L pattern. It used to house our local gourmet emporium, but they moved to bigger digs. Now Trader Joe's sits there. I've usually just gone to that building, but not the rest of the place.
I parked in a central location so that I had to trapse over the whole area. Took me a couple of hours.
Discoveries:
Great Outdoor Provision company - .
* Kayaks are cheaper than I thought. They had two shells on sale for about $485 each. I'm not even a beginner and I really thought those things were at least $1 Grand.
* Dismayed at the price of work out clothing. I thought with another 10 lbs weight loss or so, I'd be needing some new shirts to work out in. That stuff is way overpriced, especially the part nylon stuff that wicks sweat away from you. :grr: Though the travel panties were tempting. Also, I saw a dress or two that would work this summer and both were about $60.
10,000 Villages -
(Fair Trade artisanal crafts and products from all over the developing world)
* They are having a chocolate tasting next Thursday and Friday. :9 I'm very tempted to go. :dilemma:
* Bought a fair trade chocolate and hazelnut bar for only $3. These bars are the size that are anywhere from 6 - 8 dollars in other stores.
* All the hand-made soaps smelled heavenly.
* Wish I could have afforded a blue paisley scarf. Someday, I'll have money again. *sigh*
Stein Mart
Saw another summer dress I might like.
Skipped the pizzeria and Rite-Aid
Trader Joe's -
* Needed veggies, so I finally settled on eggplant and zuchinni, which I will grill with a couple of onions I already have.
* Their Special Reserve Pinot Noir is really REALLY good! :9 :9
Finally there's a store that I've always looked at but never went near due to time or just not paying attention, you know?
Evos
Turns out is a fast food restaurant that specializes in all organic, free-range meats and produce and vegitarian options.
They promise that their version of a standard FF meal (burger, fries, and milkshake) is about 1/3 less calories than McD's or the other FF places. They bake their Fries. No Fryolators here.
I'm very tight with money now, but when I do have money again, I want to stop in there. :9
http://www.evos.com/All in all, a very delightful trip into town. :-)
