Pump iron to stop middle-age spread

DALLAS - By just lifting weights twice a week for an hour, women can battle the buildup of tummy fat that often takes hold with aging, a new study suggests.

And they didn’t even diet.

---------

I have found this to be true. I switched to more cardio, less strength training this year, and it is not working for me. I am a bit heavier and wider than I was last year. Of course, some of this is probably age and the fact that I am not concentrating on my workouts right now, but I think it is more the switch in training focus. I am switching back to a system that is mostly strength training, with just a little cardio. It has worked for me all these years, I probably shouldn't have changed up in the first place.

1. Probably from raising your metabolism
muscle burns calories 24/7.

Cardio is still good for your heart.
