i love my new windows.
i had several windows replaced, part of turning my what used to be the living room and dining room of my 2flat into a parlor and a library. it will finish up turning the entry way from the old 2flat entry into a single family entry. i took out a section of the wall and the old doors and replaced them with a nice double door a while ago.
so, we did replacement sashes in the living room windows, and full replacement in the old dining room. there is a bay in that room that has shifted, and the windows barely opened. the contractor thought i was nuts until they ripped the old windows out. we also replaced a teeny double hung in the stair well with a nice casement one. that was also a full replacement. it seems so much bigger than the one they took out. i love it.
they will be doing a new exterior door as soon as it gets here. the opening is 1/2" smaller than the modern standard. the contractor had to drag the rep out to measure it for himself.
they did a great job. very tidy. everything just so. nice guys. they are beautiful windows. kolbe. i am poor but very happy.

i also think i have found a good plasterer. he came by to look at the job on saturday. he seemed like a good guy. he has a boxer, so he has good taste in dogs. i found him on the city's website. not sure what you have to do to get on and stay on that, but i would hope it is something. he has some good comments on another site. he is going to give me some references.
i thought i might be reduced to hanging out in the irish bars until i found a guy that was covered with plaster dust.

1. Happy means a lot
in the world of the contractor. I like happy customers, that's what I tell all of those that I do and have employed. The one's that understand just what I mean and make all effort, stay with me longer. It's not about the reference,it's all about the customer for life. And there are a few out there that learned very well by it.They are on their own now !
