back from the grueling hike...
didn't take my camera, just a small cheap Kodak and stole a few from my daughter... so the pictures aren't great...

We hiked in wednesday morning about 5am in frigid rain and ended up with pelting hail back up at the top... very cold hike for late May

starting out...

Me, braving the cold with 6 layers of clothes (wasn't very well prepared) ugh

pack horses we met along the way...

my daughter during a rare sun outburst...

Ken... on his 77th birthday... met him about 1/2 mile from Indian Garden, old cotton sleeping bag(soaking wet), no tent and he was planning on hiking back up to the North rim... I hope he's ok...

very welcome signs...

1. you won't easily forget that hike
:) I think you are tough! I think the camera captured the experience quite well. Good views! I tend to like hikes that are FLAT.

2. I opened this thinking: "Oh, where is she now?" with anticipation - then read -
then opened to that view of the Grand Canyon. My eyes just popped.
One has not lived IMO until one has seen the Canyon for real, when I got my first glimpse at the North Rim my knees buckled, my eyes squirted water and I had to steady myself against my companion and sank to the ground.

Both your top two, heck the third as well, in their individual ways have an old timey feel that makes every one a spectacular shot, don't be fooled to think they are ordinary. Misty Morning won the last contest, but you are paralleling it in name and mood.
In the first photo the flower on the right adds incredible dimension and helps show the depth, and in the second one your figure does the same.

I am getting too rhapsodic, so I quit.
But good on you for daring to go and for the photos.
