Pelicans on the Mississippi (pic heavy)
Below Lock and Dam 15 between Rock Island Il. and Davenport Ia. The river is running high and swift due to all the rain so far this year, which the birds must favor; they seem to be hanging around longer than they normally do. Fishing must be good.

Makes me want to brave the heat and actually start doing photography again.

I've been procrastinating about taking my camera down to the river. We finally have pelicans too, which I'm told means the river is getting cleaner.

We see them (in addition to sandhill cranes, geese, and an occasional eagle) while rowing.
