Nome is such a great old town. Loads of photo ops.

3. Here's a little write-up in the Fairbanks News Miner

about the Bering Sea Ice Classic.

There was some question whether it was going to take place this year because as of the evening before no one had put up the reserved Christmas trees, which are billed as the Nome National Forest and are an integral part of the golf tournament. Certain old-timers were becoming concerned, but the morning of the classic, bright and early, the trees and tees were being set up, and the Classic went on in fine style.

To answer your question about the balls, they are orange or green. :)
