1. What a wonderful ceiling...
All the smoke and ash from years past...

The great textures!

It's great to look at.

Thank you for posting this!

:hi:

2. You know what: We should do a contest on ceilings.
I'll recommend it, because my "stairways" continually loses out and I think it would be so beautiful.
Ceilings would also be fascinating, and stretch our imagination.

(what I mean by this is your ceiling is very fitting with the fabulous window, and I expected no less :))

3. Ah, nostalgia strikes again!
As I've mentioned before, I spent part of my childhood in Geneva, at the other end of the lake. Chillon was one of the first places we visited in the early months of our stay. I, a seven-year-old, had read many adventures and fantasies involving castles, and had been to the castle at Disneyland ;-) , but had never before visited a real castle. To say it made a big impression is an understatement.

You capture an architectural detail of Chillon very well, although I find myself wondering what it would have looked like with real candles instead of the electric variety. (I know -- the answer is "too blasted dark to shoot!" )

By the way, did you get a shot of the privy built over the lake? I'm sure you know the one I'm talking about!
