I got a pet for my dog.

Lots of you have seen Bella, my 11 month old Golden Retriever. We have two cats who refuse to have anything to do with her, even though she wouldn't hurt a fly. She's so gentle that I've seen her catch flies in her mouth and carry them out the back door to be released. Either that or she eats them, I'm not sure. Anyway, it drives her crazy and breaks her heart that the cats won't play with her. So, we decided to get her a playmate. Here's Bella:



Now, meet Luna, a Dachshund/Chihuahua mix (we call her a dach-huahua) born on 6/3. We picked up Luna at a rescue shelter just yesterday. Bella weighs an even 70lbs, Luna weighs in at just under a pound. You can see Bella in this picture as well. So far, Luna has fit in just perfectly. Last night, she slept in a kennel for the first time, and made nary a peep until after 7:00 this morning.

I remember Bella, from a previous post. She is gorgeous. I like the bigger dogs, but the little one is really cute.

though my guess is she'll be one of those small dogs who conducts herself with a certain majestic dignity.

3. If I had Bella, I would just sit around and stare at her all day.

She is gorgeous.

I have thought about getting a small dog for our Golden, but we ended up with a "gift" kitten who does play all day with the dog, whether the dog wants to or not!
