it looks like a pedal or stamen of a flower. Are there any nearby it could belong to. Maybe the wind blew it there or a bird dropped it?

It hasn't moved, crept or crawled under its own steam has it? :scared:

2. It showed up after there were weird lights in the sky the other night.
and I did not dare touch it, just took a pic of it the next morning. the squash leaf is on the back deck, a volunteer.
then this morning, it was gone!!!!!
Just like that. :shrug:

Maybe the bud of a trumpet vine? It looks sort of lonely all by itself on that big green leaf.

6. LOL...thanks for letting me have fun.
Yes, the closed blossom of what I call lipstick vine. About half the size of a small little finger.
I stepped out to see it there, it looked kinda alien , so I snapped it.
