Poll question: This is just a test, RE: Photo contest.
Edited on Thu Dec-23-04 05:11 PM by Longgrain
This is just a test to see how this looks. I resized all the photos so that they are all approxamatly the same size. I will also provide a link to the original discusstion thread in case anyone wants to see the larger versions. Look for it in the Lounge around 4 P.M. EST tomorrow...

Here's the poll question, (just for fun):

Who would you rather have a beer with?

1. Longgrain

2. Dubya

1. The text will probably read...
Just for fun, the DU Photography Group has decided to hold our first ever photography contest. There's a lot of great talent down there and we thought we would like to share it with the rest of you.

There are no really winners or losers, this is all just a friendly competition to give all of you a chance to see what we've been up to.

All the pictures have been downsized so that they are approximately the same size though larger versions of many of the same photos can be found here... (Provide link)

Here are the entries.

(List of entries)

(maybe I'll ad)

We hope to do this again soon, several other's were also interested in joining the contest but missed the deadline. They are...

4. You kind of cheated. Dub can't have a beer.
or any other alcohol. He's a dry drunk, or at least thats what they want us to think.;)

5. I'd rather pour the beer on dubya
And come to think of it, dubya could afford to pay for my beer.

Can I change my vote? :)

No offense, Longgrain, I am just a cheap bitch.

6. Hon, give me a long haired hippy type over a christo fascist up tight
alcoholic any day of the week! Even a cup of coffe! A tip of the hat! Passing on the sidewalk!

7. Er, I don't drink beer. but
As a long hair hippy freak myself I would much rather associate with another open minded individual than Shrub. But that being said there may be some tactical advantages to drinking a beer with Shrub. For one you could document him falling off the wagon. Two, you could spike his beer and get creative. The possibilities are endless.

Drink with the fellow hippy for enjoyment, drink with George to achieve an agenda.

8. of course Longgrain, but i was just wondering...
will we ever get a new picture of him? one that is just as good photography-wise, but maybe with a different "feel" ... perhaps one that is a little more jovial? one that says, "hey I DO like to have a good time and you'd love to have a beer with me!"

just a suggestion ;)

9. Maybe...
Here's my most recent one, taken Christmas Eve...P.S. I shaved this morning so the fuzz is gone...I hate smiling for pictures. I have a really evil looking smile that I've always hated...I'm not as photogenic as I know you are...

11. Awe thanks
I've seen about six photos of you...and I've never seen a bad one.

I'm a little red in the face because I had just gotten out of work and it was cold outside...(plus I had already had a couple of my Christmas Eve White Russians (Female ya know ;-) ) I agree with the glasses thing, but right now new glasses (or contacts) are a luxury I can't afford...

The painting is Paul Gauguin--"Where do we come from? What are we? Where are we going?"

It hangs in the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston...so I've visited it many times over...

i almost asked if it was Gauguin, but i didn't just in case it was a Longgrain original again.

i really like this one too (notice the use of pinks, ahhh):

Longgrain uses more blue than pink (just addicted to cobalt ya know, but I'm developing a taste for cadmium red mixed with a little titanium white..)

Here's another one I like that's more "blue"...

But, if you haven't noticed, this is the Photography Group...Paintings belong in the Artists Group lady!

But I guess Photos of paintings count..sort of ;)
