2. It's the end of an era...

For the first time since May 2005 (the first time I entered the contest), my entry didn't make the finals. :cry:

Of course, this "record" was achieved by the simple tactic of not entering the contest a number of times (apart from the few that I was hosting), when I didn't have a photo that worked with the theme. ;-)

It does make me wonder, though -- who has the real record for the most consecutive finals appearances (meaning that they entered every contest other than the ones they were hosting)? I don't have the time to go back through the archives and track everyone's contest placement, but I'll bet it would be either Blue_In_AK, CC, intheflow, or bvar22...

3. I'm probably biased about this contest

but I'm just amazed at how great the entries were, with the concomitant disappointment that so many fantastic shots didn't make the cut. Those 14 would make an impressive Salon des Refusés exhibition, bien sur.
