Well, not a poll, really, but which of these should I use for water's edge?

1. They both suck

I honestly can't say. Think #1 might have broader "GD appeal", but #2 has a nice 'surreal' :P quality to it. These are both awesome friggin' photographs.

2. My dear blue...
I'd go for the first one, I think...

I like the sharper contrasts, myself...

The second one is also lovely!

:hi:

5. Okay, that settles it.
My friends, thanks for your assistance. (Ooops, sounding like John McCain again.)

3. First one, nice composition
Still so wintery there. It's been almost spring-like here, 45F sunny days. I am hoping for some new snow, my hubby surprised me with an awesome new pair of ski boots and skis this morning!!

:woohoo:

I am not ready for winter to leave now. :hi:

4. It's been beyond cold here
for two or three weeks now. It's up to 6 today, at least, but now the wind is blowing, so you'd never know that it's warmer. It's hard to work up much enthusiasm for getting out and taking pictures when you have to keep wiping the tears out of your eyes.

Our TV weather lady showed a video a couple weeks ago of some kids up in Fairbanks tossing a potful of boiling water into the air, and it completely evaporated before it hit the ground. :scared:

7. Oh, I hate it when it is so bitter
cold like that. Germany doesn't get the wide swings of temps that the lower 48 does. We've had a weird winter. But I'll take it.

6. They are both just terrific
The first one is like the classic postcard/landscape. All the elements are there, the reflections, the geometry of the trees, perfect composition. But the second one is actually a picture of 'the water's edge' and the sunset reflects beautifully, and it's very unique. I think I would be more inclined to vote on the second one because it's just so unique and sets a mood as well as a scene. But again, they're both just incredible.

8. Thanks, S&S
It was a hard choice for me to make, but I already posted the first one in the submission thread, going with the first few preferences expressed here. The contests are all in fun anyway, so if I picked the wrong one, it won't be the end of the world or anything.

9. The second one is "edgier"
Clouds are 'water' too. So is snow.
