Travel Pictures
The other thread was getting a little long, so I thought I would start a new one. Post your best travel pictures. Here's one of my favorites from Venice.

1. Not much of an international traveler,
but I am well traveled in my home region of New England.

This is the famous White Mountain's Hotel in New Hampshire. It's a bit over lit I know, but it was early morning.

I spent a lot time their over the summer. Couldn't afford to stay at the White Mountain's Hotel however, here's the hotel I stayed at...

2. I like it
New England is beautiful. The hotel is breathtaking with the mountains in the background. I tweaked your pic in Photoshop, cropped it, and changed the levels.

Post more when you have time.

Thanks.

3. Nice...
I haven't been cropping my pictures as much as I should. I admit, it's quite the improvement. Thanks.

4. Here's one from Tucumcari, NM.
We were on our honeymoon, looking for a place to stay for the night, I believe this was on our way back home when I made the Mr. pull over in a parking lot and hung out the car door to take it.

I thought it would be crap, it was kind of dark and I was taking it directly into the sunset.

5. Oh my gosh I LOVE this!
First of all, the subject matter is extremely cool... secondly, as someone who has a hard time with long exposures, I applaud your handywork!

9. I do, too -- it was purely luck.
I didn't think it would come out at all, I figured I'd jiggle it -- I was leaning out of the car with the camera propped on the windowsill, squatting down to get the angle. Sometimes it works!

I have an obsession for taking pictures of roadside attractions--motels, diners, things like that. You know, Americana.

Sometimes beauty can be found in the most unlikely of places.

I'll have to try to get a few of my own up soon.

10. I have lots of that kind of stuff, too.
I'll probably have to register with Photobucket to get a big enough archive to actually post any of it, and I don't have all of it scanned. Up to the past few years, we did everything analog, so I only have the past few years' road stuff taken on a digital available to upload, right now.

One of my favorite vacation spots, St. Augustine.

8. I've been to St. Augustine.
It's one of the places I'd love to go back to with a decent camera, we went on a family vacation ages ago -- sometime in the '80s, I guess. Another place I'd love to visit with a good 35mm is San Juan, PR. It's a very photogenic city, and the light is great.

11. That gate I shot is the most photographed spot in St. Augustine
But I don't think there is any part of St. Augie that's not photogenic. Also, hubby and I went to Puerto Rico for our honeymoon. I must say, though I haven't scanned any film yet, the photos were outstanding... most especially the ones from San Juan.

12. Agawa Canyon
in Ontario Canada. We were there this past Summer. Took the Agawa Canyon Train ride. Awesome Northern Ontario scenery. I have some pictures from the inside of the train as we're moving along too.

20. That's very effective and dramatic! Whereabouts in Greece?
And how the HELL did you survive those roads and live to tell the tale? Nearly killed myself on Kefalonia when the roads turned to greasy soap during a rainstorm!

21. We were staying in a town called Kalambaka,
but the rock formations in the picture are called Meteora. We took a cab up to the largest of the Meteora monasteries and then hiked to the rest of them. It was early December, chilly, and pouring down rain for most of the day. I took this picture from the side of the road while we were walking. I never drove in Greece, and, from your description, I'm sure glad I didn't!

22. I just returned from a 2000-mile round trip drive to Idaho and back
This was taken west of Lone Pine, CA in an area called the Alabama Hills. The tumbled rocks were the
backdrop scenery for hundreds of Western Movies and TV shows. It is a spectacular place, IMHO.

The picture doesn't do it justice.
