1. I hope that little birdie has a parachute.
He looks a little young to be taking to the air.
The EXIF data shows a focal lenght of 40mm????

You must have been close!

2. Sorry for not including that exif data in the post.
Shutter speed 1/160 @F8 with a 40mm focal length. Yes, I was close. The nest was low in some shrubs we have around the house. With a step stool I could get right to the nest. There were three and all three flew away just fine. In fact, my wife and I saw at least one of them hanging out in a Live Oak in the front yard.

Thanks for looking. :hi:

3. I think it's a baby robin
Do a google image search on baby robin. Many of thephotos there look like your baby bird.

Love your photos! :)

6. Yes, it does look like a baby robin
but the adult doesn't.

http://journals.democraticunderground.com/Maestro/38 These pics are dark but you can see the adult here pretty well. Perhaps its the female robin.

5. Might be a Mocking Bird.

Is the nest made of twigs and about 6-7 inches across & 1-2 inches deep?

Olymus OM-2, 50 mm Macro @ f22 (does a macro lens have another f stop?), T-32 flash off camera.

7. That was my first thought as well.
And that chick definitely looks like mine especially with that tuft of down feathers on the head. Thanks.

8. At any rate it sure wasn't one of these . . .

They don't have wings, so they bump their little butts every time they try to fly.
