things are starting to look up a bit
i've been out of work since last march. i felt like i was railroaded out of that job (i'm sure the fact that i spent three days in a psych ward had something to do with it) and it's been a helluva blow to my self esteem.

but i had one interview last week and another one early next week. even if i don't get either job, it's boosting my confidence, something i haven't had in a long, long time.

1. I'm glad you are feeling better
Yeah, mental illness of any kind will rob you of your confidence and self esteem. And it's one of the hardest things to get back even after you have been well for a while. I hope you find a job soon.

4. thank you
i've never been too hot in the self esteem or confidence categories, so i'm feeling especially good right now.

2. do you think you will get a job

5. i think the job i'm interviewing for would be a good one for me
it's with the cat rescue in my town. not high paying, but i think i would actually feel like i was doing something important.

i was a newspaper reporter for five years, but given my experience at the paper and the state of the industry in general, i think i'm done with that field. i've been trying to get my foot in with a nonprofit for sometime and this would be a good opportunity to get my foot in the door.

i work in an outbound market research/polling call center and that job sucks beyond words, but at least it helps pay the bills.

3. Good to hear.
I hope one of the jobs comes through, but even if they don't I'm glad you're feeling better overall.

Sometimes just getting the interviews is worth it. The confidence boost alone is enough to keep you going for awhile.

I hope you get TWO offers by the end of next week. :toast:
