While working very late Tuesday night, I took a break, checked-in with the group, and noticed a new Pope-bashing thread started by a poster with a history of antagonistic and disparaging remarks about the Church. I alerted the Mods, and within a few minutes the thread was deleted.

I was disheartened to see our earlier thread discussing anti-Catholic hostility locked, but this quick response by an attentive Moderator reassured me that DU is committed to keeping this a place where we can share and discuss aspects of our faith without having to defend it.

As a Catholic, I, too, am dismayed at the Catholic bashing, but I think the creation of this group for us is wonderful. It is such a safe place to discuss the meaning of our religion, and I am grateful to DU for starting it.

Sometimes, I don't post for a long time, but I do read here in the group every day and I have to say, some of you have such a strong faith it moves me to tears.

I myself have been undergoing a small crisis of faith, that I hope I will weather, and I love to read the beautiful posts that are written here.

6. The Mods have never been indfferent to it.

The Mods will crack down on any bashing thread, but we have to let them know about it first. They do a great job!
