Maybe if we ignored "It", "It" would go away. Yet here I sit, linking you to the latest outrage from "It".

1. I think we need to very seriously do as Kerry recommended
and call, write, email the people who bring her on their shows.

If you think about it, RW rage led CBS to fire people who had done excellent work for years. Maybe they need to see the same concerted anger from us. This comment really goes so far, you question whether it's legal. (I also think the troops might prefer to aim at her. It seems we're already getting to the stage of the Kerry story where the protesting vets answered that "we are the troops".)

3. I will be happy to write an complain about her. You know Kerry is
next. I just keep hoping her ego leads her to say something so outlandish and she takes it to far. Perhaps, then, she will be dropped in a flash by all of those eager for her to appear. There can't be that many hateful Republicans out their willing to devour her bile. Rove must be buying up the books.

4. The media is generally letting it get away with it.
I've only counted two exceptions so far: The New York Post (with its "Coulter the Cruel" headline) and the National Enquirer, of all things ("The Most Hated Woman in America"). But The Washington Post's treatment of Coulter has been either mild (She's merely "in-your-face" and "conservative," according to the Reliable Source) or complimentary (Howard Kurtz refers to her as a "savvy constitutional lawyer").

I think that the American public would scorn her, generally speaking, if more of them saw what she was doing. It's hard to tell what her actual exposure is, and of course there is a market for hate speech, as well as a right-wing patronage system to support parasites like Coulter.

We do need to confront every TV network and every newspaper that tries to spin Coulter as mainstream or merely outspoken. As Molly Ivins said more than 10 years ago, we have to know when to stop cutting women slack when they are being a**h***s. Ivins was referring to Camille Paglia's rants in particular, but the problem more than applies to Coulter.

6. Just an observation or two.
First of all, I agree with many on this board who say we need to call the mainstream media on their tendency to enable Coulter and/or treat her as mainstream.

Secondly, "It" has enjoyed the bulk of its 15 minutes of fame. This sort of notoriety and/or fame is fleeting, and though there will always be ignorant, mean-spirited people among us, Coulter stands to drop off the radar screen fairly soon. Give it a couple of years. She won't be able to pull off this show much longer, especially given her mental state.
