OMG! The Commerce Committee is holding hearings again!
Edited on Mon Jan-23-06 08:13 PM by TayTay
I'm saved. Things were getting so boring and I was unsatisfied with the Judicary Committee hearings. I needed me some serious questioners and some serious issues that I don't really comprehend at all. Sigh!

Tomorrow the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science & Transportation will hold hearings on Copyright Issues with Digital Audio. (Yeah, I haven't a clue either, but I bet GV knows.)

Description: Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) and Co-Chairman Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii) have scheduled a Full Committee Hearing on Broadcast and Audio Flag for 10am on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 in room 562 of the Dirksen Building.

Panel 1:

Mr. Andy Setos
President of Engineering, Fox Entertainment Group

Mr. Jonathan Band
Counsel, American Library Association

Mr. Thomas B. Patton
Corporate Vice President of Government Relations, Philips Electronics North America Corporation

Ms. Leslie Harris
Executive Director, Center for Democracy and Technology

Panel 2:

Mr. Mitch Bainwol
Chairman & CEO, Recording Industry Association of America

Mr. Gary Shapiro
President & CEO, Consumers Electronics Association

Mr. Dan Halyburton
Senior Vice President and General Manager of Group Operations, Susquehanna Radio

Copyright, copyright, there's something about that copyright thing. If only I could remember.

Oh yeah, Sen. Allen is on this committee. I have no idea which Republican pulled the short straw and has to go over to this house tonight and tell him what copyright is and how it relates to football, but somebody has to do it. Sigh!
