For those who still do battle on Kos, have at em
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/12/6/225027/342

It's another "How could Kerry be so stupid" reaction to his comment on "Face the Nation" re: soldiers terrorizing women and children.

But to say that he and Hannity deserve each other? When all Kerry did was speak the truth?

WTF?

1. Pathetic - if they swapped comments, he'ld still back Dean
Kerry probably should have used one of the synonyms - but the word he used is appropriate. Out of everything in his plan, he has pushed this more than anything. It might well be that he has used stronger and stronger language on this because he really wants to get this issue out and dicussed. As others have said there are many military people backing this.

I also think between fighting so hard for a sensible withdrawal and for the prison amendment, he is essentially knowingly running the risk of not being electable, because there are things that need to be done.

7. So True
How many gaffes did Dean make which they backed him on?

Considering there wasn't a thing wrong with Kerry's statement and the attacks are based totally on distorting what he said, there's no doubt they would have no problem backing Dean if he said this.

If Dean said this, there would be posts on tons of blogs protesting how his words were twisted. If anyone claimed that he was wrong in his choice of words, they'd quickly be shouted down.

Children being terrorized by soldiers entering the home is in no way saying that the soldiers are terrorists and anyone, left or right, should realize that.

3. first they want him to grow a spine, then
they want him to fearfully mince along, checking every word before it comes out of his mouth. Truth is, they want too much, so they'll get nothing. They'll never be satisfied with anyone. Except the mythical candidate who "might have been". Don't they ever bash Republicans over there?

6. Good question, I am beginning to think the majority of his posters
are actually repubs- they sure act like them. All of Kos's Kerry posts aim to do one thing- discredit him so that he is damaged to much to run again.

8. Not Republicans
They are not Republicans, but they write from the perspective that Kerry is wrong and then work backwards from that assumption.

13. Well, I have noticed something about K0S popularity on Yahoo...
They are not coming up nearly as often when you search for "John Kerry" in the news category. Funny thing is, there is another blog that has just started coming up at the top of the blog list: The Democratic Daily. Congratulations! This is terrific news and a kick in the K-zero-S.

:applause:

14. That's one of the goals
Obviously we cannot erase all negative spin on Kerry, but at least if people do a web search they are increasingly likely to have one of our posts defending him. Even if they read the attacks (left or right) hopefully they will also see what we write and maybe come to the correct conclusion.

15. Congratulations to you and to KG (and anyone else involved)
Not knowing how the search engines work is there anything we can do to help? (I follow KG's links over there and really admire the smart group of people responding as well as your and KG's well written posts.

17. Links bring more links
Probably the best thing to do which would increase the priority our posts get from the search engines is putting up links. Links on blogs might make the most difference, but possibly even posting pro-Kerry comments on other blogs linking back might affect how search engines rank Democratic Daily.

That's the legitimate way. There are all sorts of things people do to affect search engines but I'm mot really up on such techniques. Any google-bomb experts here?

10. Ow... ow... ow
"Well, excuse me. (none / 0)

I guess we should all just walk in lockstep.

People have a right to express what they feel, and if they feel Kerry is a detriment to the Democratic Party they ought to be able to say so without suffering personal attacks by Kerry loyalists.

I'm sure you believe that criticizing Kerry hurts the Democratic Party. You are free to believe that (I don't), but you should also develop some tolerance for people who disagree with you. Believe it or not, a lot of Democrats believe it would be a disaster if Kerry got the Democratic nomination again in 2008, and they have a right and obligation to express that if they feel that way. Many who feel that way, the author of this diary, and me, for example, voted for Kerry in 2004. I even believe he won the election.

It is a real shame that this site is becoming a hostile environment for people with views that others disagree with. What ever happened to civility and rational debate?"

The only answer I could come up with for that post was a spit-take.

Brain cramp! Brain cramp!!
