3. He's doing great sticking up for himself
calls in his favor 4=1 AND he's for the draft.

AND he read his resolution that is not being voted on.

"I don't have enough troops to monitor the Syrian border" Commander who spoke to him...

either 10,000 short or DRAFT!

he's laying it out.

5. He is kicking butt!
This was obviously a painful thing for him to do. He is grieving for all those troops who have been put in harm's way without the proper support from their government.

This is an amazing moment.

7. Murtha is reaching many many people.
I hope all the dems including Kerry will be able to reach people as well.

They all need to work together.

I hope today is the start.

9. His speech was amazing
It's about the troops and our ability to support them. Murtha knows it's about them and about how this Admin has failed them and doesn't intend to do anything to help them at all.

10. the republicans call the "emblazzin the terrorist"
Jazeerra, 'great progress.." suport the troops.

They're not listening to the fact that we've already deserted them without their equipment!

11. The Rethugs are cynical and repulsive
Did you hear when Rep ???(Brain Freeze, Rep from CA, Holocaust survivor and a brave and honorable man) asked for a clarification about whose amendment they were voting on, as the Rethug speaker had said Murtha's Amendment. The Dem said this was not Murtha's Amendment, but a Repub Amendment and the Speaker said, "That's debatable."

What a horse's ass. These people are the lowest of the low. Their cycnicism is beyond pathetic. They are playing petty politics with the lives of our troops.

12. yeh, I heard that.
I was in the irc at the dcp at the same time and we commented on how they tried to slip that past!

We questioned whether it was an intentional mis-statement or accidental.

13. LOL - He is 73.
Edited on Fri Nov-18-05 11:14 PM by Mass
These guys are stupid - I remember the calls "Nagin for president" a few months ago.

Probably the same who were so confused earlier they did not realize the stunt the GOP was pulling. PDA called for all Dems to vote for the Murtha's resolution, then sent a correction email to say to vote against it.

rawstory had a title saying that the house voted for troops withdrawal, Randi Rhodes did more or less the same thing, when it was actually the vote for the rule to bring to a vote the Hunter bill.

They are just excited, until the next person to be excited about.

Actually, they should be excited, but still, by now, they should understand what it is about.

15. Do you get the feeling
that the dems are in control now??

Things are amazing.
We are controlling the news. The repugs are having to answer to us.
Tweety is drooling over Kerry. Everyone is talking about Murtha, about Fitz. The repugs have lost credibility and respect.

Sp tell me George - how's that mandate coming along?

Yeah, okay, that's fair. Someone told Tweety to heel yesterday and he did indeed heel. (Tweety has a big man crush on *, so maybe he is just coming t his senses now.)

20. I get the feeling that * might decide to keep his sorry ass in Asia.
Of course I also get the feeling that they don't want him either. How does it feel Georgie to be the most hated man in the world? You've got one up on your old man now Dubya - I don't think 41 came anywhere near most hated status. Well done!

22. Murtha's plan is going to take 6 months to get out of there.
Kerry's wants to bring 20,000 troops home in a month.

Why isn't Kerry the hero?

24. Look at this from Yahoo
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051119/ap_on_go_co/congress_iraq

Democrats claimed Republicans were changing the meaning of Murtha's withdrawal proposal. He has said a smooth withdrawal would take six months.
