Mama Said they'd be days like this: Vent on ANWR vote
Edited on Wed Mar-16-05 03:23 PM by TayTay
This sucks. On the one hand we picked up 7 Repub votes to preserve the Artic National Wilderness Reserve from drilling. But we lost 3 Dems. Sigh! Mama said ther'd be days like this, Mama said they'd be days like this.

Sigh!

I intend on sending Kerry's office a note of thanks for fighting the good fight for me and pledging to now use alternative routes to block the drilling. He did his part and should know that we appreciate it.

Sigh!

Days like this suck Mama!

EDIT: Oh and good news, my blood pressure went down since Nov. Now 112/74. See, don't get mad, instead make new plans.

2. I don't know. I am too depressed to vent.
I have been arguing with a Pro-life"democrat" on another thread and everything I am seeing lately , except for Kerry is depressing. Our own party have been stabbing us in the back! First the Bankruptsy Bill then this. And all those people willing to compromise on a womens right to choose! We are even running some Pro-Life dems for office. And dean wants to reach out to them? I dunno. Maybe my husband was right when he wanted to move out of the country on election day. Sigh. Things better get better quick!

16. Tell Kerry to buy a country
So we can move there. That's what one poster said today. lol. It'd have to be Teresa though, but I kind of liked the sentiment.

It's all very discouraging. We had pro-drilling Dems posting today too. Some really good Dems that surprised the hell out of me when they said it.

What to do, what to do

4. I'm really quite depressed
at the moment.

No Amtrak.
Alaskan drilling.

I'm just not seeing an up side. So I don't want to vent because I don't want to bring down anyone who's feeling hopeful.

Oh yeah, and I heard the chimp-in-chief on the news talking about how he wants to "work with democrats." Yeah, and I'm the queen of England.

12. Ive met her
She gave our goddamn class republicans perfect talking points by not knowing that she didnt vote for the patriot act. She really didnt come off good to me and to be frank, even though hes a republican, I was more impressed by Chuck Hagel than Mary Landrieu, I prefer Landrieu on the issues of course but Hagel at least has the balls to go maverick in a state that loves Bush, and Landrieu seems to sell out. Yeah I wish we could do better in Lousianna too. She bragged about supporting Bush when she was up for reelection, she still barely won.

Edited on Thu Mar-17-05 12:40 AM by saracat
the black preachers to get out the vote for her.He had to beg. They didn't want to vote for her in the runoff (Last cycle) She and John Breaux are both pieces of work.At least he is gone. What is it about Louisiana. Don't any of them have any loyalty?
And I like Hagel better too!

20. That makes sense
She really I have read turned off black voters on how she acted to Cleo Fields, the man who ran against Governor Mike Foster in 1995, I think it was, she gave him little support. Yeah her and Breaux are just awful when it comes to the environment. I don't understand Louisiana and here's an irony for you, Huey "Every man is a king, share the wealth" Long's son Russell was a key figure in the beginning of the new democratic movement of the mid 80's.

11. Ok, sometimes it sucks to be us
But these votes against things that every day Americans need and use are piling up. The Democrats have to start keeping track.

I think I will put together a little database of the votes on all the amanedments so far and which Sens voted for them and against them. This is the kind of info we need to present for the '06 election.

I don't get that down anymore. I just don't. I have learned the value of taking my punches and getting back up. After all, the fight is not about me. It's about what I value in my heart and my soul. That is greater than any hurt I feel. My obligation becomes finding a way to move on and get it done.

And so it goes....

15. Not venting...
But I hope it gets a laugh out of somebody.

Kerry should take the members of the Axis of the Weak-Kneed to the woodshed and box their ears till they come to their senses. Just in time for their "second chance" with the budget.
