How would YOU "train" for Survivor?
OK, you're thinking on going on Survivor. Is there anything you should do BEFORE you go?

1) LEARN HOW TO MAKE A FIRE - PRACTICE IT A *FEW* TIMES (caps intentional for shouting)
2) Learn to swim
3) Practice standing / walking on 2x4's
4) Read one of those "Survive in the Wilderness" books....
5) Try to build up some muscle mass
6) Practice holding my breath

Can you think of any others?

3. Everytime I watch the show I think of #1
If I knew I was going on the show, I would be able to make fire out of any combination of 500 random, common objects. I would be a god.

4. Definitely learn to make fire.
I just can't believe that every season there are people who have no clue. If they've ever seen the show they would know that fire is most important!

I would also try to learn something about building a shelter from twigs and palm fronds. :)

Work out to build muscle strength. Practice holding my breath under water.

Maybe think about some of the things I might have to eat and mentally prepare for it. I am not sure how I would do that but it would be a good idea! :puke:

6. I'd watch "Survivorman" a few dozen times, and then copy him
This guy is great, any of you seen the show? I think it's on Discovery and maybe Nat'l Geo (not sure, but I have seen it on two different channels, one as hour episodes, one as edited half-hour shows).

Les Stroud can make fire anywhere, and he shows you how. He shows you how to survive in the wilderness, I've seen him in snow blizzards, in jungles, in swamps, out at sea, in the desert.

Boggles my mind that contestants on Survivor don't come prepared to at least make fire!
