Vinge said he had to come up with an alternative to the Singularity if he wanted to do Space Opera, and that's the solution he found. Brilliant.

as Peregrine Wrickwrackrum, then becomes Wrickwrackscar, iirc. And I think he eventually absorbed some of Woodcarver at the end, but the book's on the other side of the room. :hi:

9. I've been enjoying Vinge since "Marooned In Real Time"
I read that in Analog, it's a very interesting universe Vinge builds for that also, bobbles, the Singularity and one way time travel into the future allow for some powerful stories.
