1. Gorgeous! Good Cameron's back.
I don't think he's ever made a bad movie... Well, Piranha 2, but he had to start somewhere.;)

It's also going to be in IMAX 3D for those who's interested. I saw Up! in 3D and didn't like it. The exit signs reflected in the glasses the whole time, and it got blurry when you moved your head.

6. I never watched that flick...
I like "Aliens" Cameron and I do not want that image I have of him tarnished.

8. Titanic is one of the most exciting hours of film I've ever seen...
...stretched over the course of four hours and strangled to death by a pointless and wholly unbelievable love story.

For comparison, the idea that Lenny could be unimpaired after running around below decks, chest-deep in icy water for an hour was far more believable than the "romance" between him and Kate.

2. I'm skeptical
About halfway through the preview I was about 97% certain that I was watching a video game trailer.

I'm still not sure that I was wrong...

4. yeah - the trailer leaves you scratching your head
doesn't clue you into the story at all.

Damn fine eye candy, though.

9. I think I can parse the story...
You've got human colonists on an alien world. Humans are not well-suited to this world. There are some native inhabitants. They clone/engineer an avatar to download a human personality into. The hero, I assume. His job is field research, and/or manager and/or provocateur. The natives are being repressed, or exploited, or something. The human organizes them to help them revolt. Somewhere along the way, he falls in love with one of the natives. And there is some hot naughty alien-on-human-inside-an-avatar love.

I had a hard time figuring out if this movie is CGI or live action with a lot of CGI augmentation.
