3. Good call on some of those
How could I forget Red Dwarf? Although I wonder if MST3K should really count. Or Hercules and Xena for that matter. And what about the TV version of Hitchhiker's Guide? It's difficult with TV scifi because very little of it is actually science fiction. Most is pure fantasy whether its set in space or ancient Greece. That's why I chose the original series Star Trek over TNG; it was more science fiction than TNG in my humble opinion. The only true science fiction series on my list is Star Cops. B5 and Firefly come close, and The Prisoner is more broadly speculative fiction with science fiction elements.

It's hard indeed. There has actually been a lot of good scifi on TV although now that I think about it. To winnow it down to just the Top 10 is almost impossible.

4. Yeah, I know I took some liberties with the genre.
It's as difficult to corral them as it is to pick just 10.

Re Hercules: It's more mythology than sci-fi, but I loved the humour and the setting of the series. And the regular appearances of Bruce Campbell, who was his usual wonderful self.

Never got into Xena.

5. Ha ha.
There were only one two reasons I got into Xena and the storyline didn't enter into it. The first reason was that back when I had free cable TV it was on every afternoon right after I got back from work. You can probably guess the second reason, but if not I'll give you a hint:

:bounce: :applause: :loveya:

Come to think of it, that's why I first got into Stargate SG-1 too. Hmm... I detect a pattern here.

6. What a coincidence!
Those are the same two reasons my brothers watched Xena!

I never had the hots for Kevin Sorbo, even though he's cute, I'm more of a Michael Hurst (Iolaus) type gal.

But my heart will always belong to Kevin Tod Smith, may he RIP, the actor who played Ares
