Any of you familiar with the Mabus/Markuze psychodrama?
PZ Myers has written about him several times - a religious nut who's been cyberstalking and sending death threats to atheists & skeptics for years. Fortunately he wasn't too bright, and left enough evidence that people figured out his true identity. However, the local police where he lived (Montreal) had zero interest in investigating him or his threats. Until recently. A really good writeup of the sordid tale is here:

Remember though, it's atheists like Richard Dawkins who are the true threat. Fuck, doesn't that just send chills down your spine to have heard the same sentiment expressed here on DU and no one gives a shit?

2. Here's a bit on Markuze

There's a picture accompanying the very thin article. Apparently the first thing the cops did is whisk him off to a psychiatrist and are keeping everything as quiet as possible while they wipe all the egg off their faces.

3. Well, when you are the persecuted majority, I guess you get certain priveleges...
that the rest of us do not get to share in.

4. I've seen and responded to this nutter several times on Skeptical Inquirers
FB page. The guy was UNRELENTING with his crazy trolling posts. I fortunately never was a target as some others were.

8. He was everywhere!
The name jogged my memory a bit and I remember him from #Atheists on Dalnet. He was a little cagier there, since the mods would have banned his ass fast if he'd done his usual death threats bit. He saved those for private messages, as I recall.

5. "it's atheists like Richard Dawkins who are the true threat"
It's nutty, isn't it? The only danger Dawkins poses is maybe causing a person to think.

And the christian myth states that man's first sin was eating from the Tree of Knowledge.

So it's not funny that they consider thinking to be dangerous.

9. I have a few fundies I work with...
and they both own Apple computers. I laugh at the fact that they do not even put 2 and 2 together when looking at the Apple logo.
